loser of Giants-Cowboys might get a badly-needed new coach.

winner might get a 1st-rd exit via Falcons - and "extra games" vs Packers and 49ers next year.

loser gets Bears and Seahawks/Cardinals loser today.

EDIT: Romo entered the game with a better QB Rating, and Eli did get overhyped this year in a pass-happy environment.

But why Eli is better is exemplified by 2 second-half plays:
- Romo was driving in Giants territory, and threw a completed pass off a mad scramble further beyond the line of scrimmage than Romo just had to run for. end of drive.
- Up 7 in the 4th, Eli ran for just enough yards to turn a shaky FG try into an easy one, ensuring a 10-pt lead.

Eli makes a lot of dumb plays, but Romo makes even more.

Giants have won any postseason games in only one season since 2000.
Ironic that it took a dropped 3rd down pass by the Cowboys to even advance the Giants in the 2nd round toward their Super Bowl title year (with wins at Green Bay tundra and over 18-0 though sliding Patriots). If not for that, Coughlin was fired years ago and Eli would be skewered every year since.

Eagles ended the year seeming like the best division team, and Redskins pummeled the Giants twice and lost to the Cowboys by 1 and in OT. That should work out to a fun NFC East 2012!

- The Giants have enough pluses to beat the Falcons - and challenge the Packers again at Lambeau, and if needed, 49ers at Candlestick.

- There's something not right with this team.

I think it's the weirdest division looking ahead to 2012, but AFC West fans can stake a solid claim as well.

Apparently this this the "NFC East title hat" on Tom Coughlin off a 9-7 season, and an under-.500 NFC East effort overall (worst division title record since the 1970 merger).

the Eagles finished 2nd in the NFC East.

I love this because it means we get to host the Lions next year, and I may get to go with a group of friends from college (one is a Lions fan).

Eagles ended the year seeming like the best division team

They finally started playing like they were supposed to, and Castillo finally began to resemble a real defensive coordinator. However, they did it against lame QBs, so I'm not 100 percent sold.

The Chiefs win another with their defense, and the Broncos back into the playoffs. After Seattle last season, this may be the worst playoff home team ever. Had the Chiefs won in OT last week, they would have that dubious honor.

The Broncos have a legit defense, one of the best in the league. But they are not the 2000 Ravens and Tebow isn't even Trent Dilfer.
