Week 15 musings...

Watching the way the Lions fed Calvin Johnson the ball on the last drive, makes you wonder why they don't do that much more often than they do.

Watching the Sebastian Janikowski kick a 51-yarder, he made it seem like he was kicking an extra point.

While the Packers defense is dreadful, once the weather turns in the coming weeks, I wonder how the Green Bay offense will fair.

Philly is looking like the " team no one wants to play ", at least right now.

I have to admit, Seattle has played far better than I expected this year. Lynch has been surprisingly good as the RB and QB Jackson hasn't totally imploded.

Baltimore. 7-0 at home, 3-4 on the road.

Watching WR Hakeem Nicks drop that easy TD pass early in the Skins game was brutal.

Oakland/Detroit had 19 combined penalties, which is about right since both teams are averaging about 10 each.

Giants/Jets next week. Someone goes home for good, in fact, both teams should be going home.

Drew Brees will throw for over 5,000 yards and likely won't win the MVP. Crazy.

Washington needs a legit QB in the worst way.

I'm surprised that WR Chad Johnson has kept quiet this year despite his struggles.

The Chiefs need only two pieces of help to win the devision. Buffalo needs to beat Denver, and San Diego must lose one of two. Other than that, the Chiefs control their own fate.

There is also a realistic chance that all 4 AFC West teams finish exactly 8-8. Buffalo beats Denver, Chiefs win out against Denver and Oakland, SD splits, Oakland wins their other game. KC holds the tie breaker.

Who was that team beating the Ravens last night? I dont think they have been in the NFL this year.

Hands up if you thought Jason Babin would be leading the league in sacks with 18 ?

I can't say I predicted 18, but I am not surprised by it. He's playing in the same system as last year with the Titans, when he had 12.5. And literally all he has to do is rush the passer.

Three sacks in his last two games, and he ties Reggie White's club record of 21.

He will forever be a disappointment to the team that drafted him, but he can get after the passer.

He's a limited player but was finally put into a system that plays to his strengths. This is the case for a lot of late bloomers.

How in the hell were Faulk and Holmes limited??? Both were great runners, both were great receivers, and both had an amazing nose for the goal line. Limited by their previous teams, sure, but certainly not by their abilities, as folks seem to be suggesting about Babin.

Holmes I can understand, since he was undrafted....but Faulk? He was the #2 pick in the draft and had 1,800 yards rushing/receiving his rookie year. He may have had his best seasons with STL, but he was not limited with the Colts.

Faulk suffered when the team turned to a more power oriented running game. Remember, he was considered a disappointment and traded to the Rams for a 2nd round pick. Similarly, Priest did little in the Ravens power game. The Chiefs got him as a 3rd specialist.

It didn't go down that way with Faulk, J. He was traded because he was considering holding out for a new contract, was missing practices, and Bill Polian did not want him to become a clubhouse cancer to a young Peyton Manning. A guy coming off a 2,200 yard campaign can't be considered a "disappointment."
