Buc HOFer Selmon Suffers Massive Stroke

wow, bad news for an all-time great. Let's hope he pulls through ok.

His family has a barBQ restaurant across town from where I grew up. Leroy has always been one of my favorite players. A dominant force on some wretchedly bad teams.

There is a story about his next to last Pro Bowl. A lot of players were kidding him about getting picked on reputation alone, because he only had 4 sacks. Then he had three sacks in the Pro Bowl game. Afterward, he said "It was the first time all year I ddidnt get three blockers."

Think about this. His brother Lucious, 2 time All America at Oklahoma is a year older. His brother Dewey is a twin. All three play 6 man football together for two years. Ouch.

He was a Freshman, not eligible to play, when Oklahoma and Nebraska player The Game in 1971.

Selmon passed away this afternoon at age 56. RIP.
