    Swann only made the Pro Bowl 3 times and was chosen as All-Pro once. It's not like they didn't pick WRs for those slots, either.

    Swann finished in the top 10 in catches twice - 1977 and 1978, 7th both times. He was 4th among WRs in 1977 and 4th again in 1978.

    He was as high as 4th in receiving yards once - 1977 - but again was 4th among WRs.

    We agree on not comparing 1970s numbers to 1990s numbers. But that aside, my statement still stands. And I'm not ripping the pick like some here; it's just that the "story" part is critical.

      Oh I agree that his "story" and "legend" play a huge part in his HOF admission.

      Swann did not factor high into any league leaders, but he led his team many times and that's all you ask for. The fact that Swann wasn't among league leaders was more a factor of his team and not of his ability.
