  • Potential dump deals in PPR auction league

Apologies for posting this on election night, but I can't really control the timing.

14 teams, PPR, $250 cap, moving to a Superflex league next year. Max 4 keepers, but if you keep 4, 1 must have been a rookie the previous year. To keep someone, you give them a raise of $5 or 25%, whichever is greater.

My team is 3-6 and riddled with injuries. Since I have Julio Jones, who is too expensive to be kept, it is not surprising that a couple of owners have approached me about dump deals. All prices are what they would cost to keep in 2017.

If I do nothing, my keepers would look something like this:

Russell Wilson $26 (is he worth about 10% of budget in a Superflex league? I think yes.)
    Lamar Miller $31
Allen Hurns $16, Quincy Enunwa $15, Brandon LaFell $6 or Zach Miller $7
No 4th keeper as my only rookie is Don Jackson, who would be $9 to keep, which I don't see happening.

Team A proposes Latavius Murray $16, Keenan Allen $23 and, if I desire as a throw-in, Malcolm Mitchell $7 (rookie eligible) for Julio and Miller.

If I took that deal, my keepers would look like:

    Wilson $26
    Allen $23
    L. Murray $16
    Mitchell $7 if worth it

Team B wants Julio and would offer some combination of Donte Moncrief $15, Jordan Matthews $24, Tyrell Williams $6, Matt Jones $16 and/or Hunter Henry $6 (rookie eligible). I would want Henry in such a deal and would lean toward Moncrief also. I don't care for M. Jones, I don't think 50% of my keepers being Chargers is a good idea and I'm not sure Matthews is much more than a decent WR3, which means $24 is close to his price ceiling.

If I took that deal, my keepers would look like:

    Wilson $26
    Miller $31
Moncrief $15 (or someone else from the deal)
    Henry $6

So, which do you like best, Team A scenario, Team B scenario, or stand pat? If Team B scenario, would the best deal be Julio for Moncrief and Henry, or would you prefer a different combo?

    Not great deals either way.

For deal A I don't see the Raiders using Murray next year and Kennan Allen is coming off another year ending injury. Big gambles here.

For deal B I like this one a little bit better as you get Moncrief and Tyrell Williams is coming into his own this year. Hunter Henry is also a nice grab. I would lean toward this deal if you dont' get anything else. I agree Matt Jones does nothing for me.
Bob- I'm not exactly sure it would ROCK as you say it Byron.. it may be cool, by typical text book descriptions. Your opinion of this is shallow and poorly constructed, but allow me to re-craft your initial thought into something tangable.

I agree with Piney - don't love either deals but of the two, I like deal B better. If that's all you can get for Julio then it's better than nothing I guess. I'd rank the players in Deal B as: Henry, Moncrief, Williams, Matthews, Jones.

        I agree as well.

Deal A is of no help - pass.

Deal B is better, so if nothing else arises, take that.

Given this feedback, I notified the whole league that Julio is available. These other offers came in:

Team C offered Jeffery $31 straight up for Julio.

My keepers in this scenario would be Wilson $26, L. Miller $31 and Jeffery $31.

Team D said he had lots of players he'd consider parting with. The offer he sent was Booker $19 (rookie), Bibbs $6, Beasley $7 and Walford $8 for Julio, Z. Miller and 2 scrubs. He also has Pryor $8, Wallace $9, JJ Nelson $7 and Hightower $8. He also has a cheap Antonio Brown but obviously that's not on the table.

My keepers in this scenario would be Wilson $26, L. Miller $31, Booker $19 (rookie) and one of Beasley, Hurns, Enunwa or LaFell (or Bibbs if he shows something).

Another team sent an offer, I'll call him Team F because his offer deserved an F. Won't waste your time with the details.

Either of these better than Team B? If so, is it better than standing pat?

Team D sounds better. Love getting Devontae Booker. Even though Bibbs outgained him last week Booker was still on the majority of snaps. Do you like Walford? I would rather see you get Pryor. Gives you more keeper choices for next year. Also since your dumping you can find a TE on the waiver wire since you are moving Zach Miller.

Thanks, PB. I also have Barnidge, who is not a huge step down from Z. Miller. I will see if he is open to moving Pryor.

No on Jeffery. Definitely no bargain at $31.

I also like Booker, but this offer still seems light. If you can get Pryor in the deal that would be much better for you.

He doesn't want to part with Pryor, unfortunately.
