  • Dropped Fleener - Need a TE for Week 5

14 Team 0.5 PPR, team in signature. I dropped Fleener before the game last night, which was a good thing since he had 2 rec, 9 yards (1.9pts). Now I need to find a TE to start this week. Here are my options:

    1. Trade for M. Bennett or C. Clay
-Other owner said they would trade M. Ryan & a TE for Rodgers. I tried to work Cobb into the trade on their end while adding A. Robinson on my end, he said that he wasn't interested in Robinson.
-The other owner would probably do Cobb & a TE for Julio too but I haven't checked with him.

    2. Add a TE on waivers (Sunday morning). Here are the best options:

    Vernon Davis: 2014 stats - 15 targets, 8 receptions, 109 yards
-Brusied Knee: Sat out Week 4 after not practicing all week
-Limited on Wednesday & Practiced on Thursday
-Best game of 2014: 5/62 in Week 2 at PIT

    Ladarius Green: 2014 stats - 18 targets, 14 receptions, 174 yards, 2 TDs
    -Antonio Gates returns from suspension
-M. Floyd (concussion): Participated in practice on Wednesday & Thursday. Not sure if he's cleared the NFL concussion protocol yet.
-S. Johnson (hamstring): Didn't practice on Thursday
-Best game of 2014: 5/74/1 in Week 1 vs DET

    Derek Carrier: 2014 stats - 5 targets, 4 receptions, 26 yards
-J. Reed (concussion, sprained knee/ankle) didn't practice on Wednesday or Thursday
-In 2014 Reed & N. Paul combined for 89/972/1 so the Redskins like to throw to their TE
-Redskins gave up 5th round pick to acquire Carrier from SF on August 21st
    -6'3" 240 & ran a 4.49 40 yard dash in 2012 out of Beloit College
    -converted WR
-Best game of 2014: 2/18 in Week 4 vs PHI

    Crockett Gillmore: 2014 stats - 13 targets, 10 receptions, 151 yards, 2 TDs
-Calf injury: Sat out Week 4
-Didn't practice on Wednesday or Thursday
-Steve Smith (back) OUT for Week 5
-Best game of 2014: 5/88/2 in Week 2 at OAK

    Heath Miller: 2014 stats - 18 targets, 13 receptions, 117 yards, 1 TD
-Went for 1/1 on 2 targets last week in Vick's first start
    -M. Bryant returns from suspension
-Best game of 2014: 8/84 in Week 1 at NE

    Austin Seferian-Jenkins: 2014 stats - 10 targets 7 receptions, 139 yards, 2 TDs
-This would be a future waiver move, obviously doesn't help me for Week 5
-Strained Shoulder: Sat out Week 3 & Week 4 (expected to miss 2-4 more weeks)

What say you Junkies? Thanks in advance.

I personally wouldn't trade Rodgers for a TE. I would probably go with Green this week and maybe Jenkins or Miller (when Ben gets back). I have a team that is in a similar spot and basically punting TE until someone gets healthy. Good luck.

You know it's 2015, right? I don't think those 2014 stats matter too much...

I'm with Frae...hope you get lucky off the wire with Ladarius, Crockett or Vernon on an emergency spot filler. No way I trade Rodgers for Ryan and Clay or Bennett.

Crockett & Davis are both out for Week 5 so they were of my list automatically. It came down to Miller, Green & Carrier for me. In the end I gambled with Carrier. Thanks for all the input & hopefully I made the correct choice.

Too late to make the deal? Because Ryan and Bennett would be just fine for you. Rogers is the best, but Ryan isn't far behind this year.

Ryan might be good, but he's no Rodgers. According to FBG's Top 200 Forward values, Rodgers is $27 and Ryan is $11.

Again, I ain't trading Rodgers for a TE upgrade.....

And he got a TD, which is about all you can ask for from a TE not named Gronk.

Rodgers/Carrier scored me 27 this week compared to the 15pts. from Ryan & Bennett. So at least for this week, I made the right choice. Unfortunately the 97pts. that I scored was not enough, my opponent is sitting at 111 with L. Bell playing tonight.
