So in the title game in Hammer's league, I notice earlier this week my opponent is apparently deciding to sit McCoy for Boom Herron, which I thought was sheer lunacy and told Pete as much. This afternoon, I saw a report that Edelman was out tomorrow, and I knew he had him also. I checked the live score around 5pm and saw yes, he did indeed sit McCoy -- and still had Edelman in his starting lineup! Did he not see that report? He has nothing major on his bench to replace Edelman since he has a few guys going now and had one on Thursday, except for the iffy Julio Jones (but he also has Harry Douglas starting).

I text Pete this surprising development, who then tells me the owner frantically tried to convince him to put McCoy into his lineup -- at 4:45, 15 minutes after the game started! Uhh, too late Pete says (and c'mon man - this is the title game.)

So now I see he's put in Joseph Randle in Edelman's place. He has $0 FAAB left to my $1, and the only worthwhile flex player out there is Eddie Royal. So let's welcome Mr. Royal to my squad!

Moral of the story -- never bench your studs unless you're loaded (and Boom Herron does not count as being "loaded").

Geno Smith putting his stamp on the AFC title chase. sacked on 3rd down as Jets trail 17-26 with 5:30 to go. forces 52-yd FG attempt by Folk, who rarely misses but he did in this spot. HUGE sack for Patriots.

One modest warning about Beckham - not hard to get under his skin, and he's a chirper himself. He should have gotten a PF for taunting after a catch, then after a short TD he did get one for celebrating right next to a couple of STL defenders.

In 2nd qtr, late hit OB PI by Rams led to more stuff, including Beckham tossing ball at defender, and multiple ejections. Rams are chippy anyway, and the word is out that the 15 yards might be worth it. I found it striking that he got hit OB in the Dallas game, then flopped. unimpressed ref picked up flag, and I think even used the word "flop."

Of course, the massive talent is a plus, lol
