14-team 1/2ppr. I'm trying to trade a WR because I have 4 very good ones. We start 2 RBs, 2 WRs, plus 1 flex. I might be able to pull this off, but should I?

    Current roster

    QB Ryan
    RB Bell, Vereen, Ivory
WR D Thomas, Gordon, J Jones, Marshall
    TE Walker, Rudolph
    K Haushka
    DST Bills, Lions

I give up Marshall, Ryan, and Ivory

    for

    Rothlisberger and McKinnon

I'm not planning to use Marshall again but I just want to hear thoughts on how much of an upgrade I'd be getting at QB and RB. There's a decent chance I would play this team in the 1st round of the playoffs so I don't want to improve his team more than I improve my own. His other RB/WR starters are Lynch, AJ Green, Mike Evans, and Pierre Thomas.
If DMT didn't exist we would have to invent it. There has to be a weirdest thing. Once we have the concept weird, there has to be a weirdest thing. And DMT is simply it.

I think that's too much to give up on your end. You're basically giving Marshall away in this trade. Roethlisberger has been an upgrade over Ryan so far this year but Ben has a tougher playoff schedule than Ryan does. Ivory has a really good playoff schedule in Weeks 14 thru 16 (at MIN, at TEN & vs NE).

I'd aim higher if I was going to give up Marshall. What does the other team's roster look like?

Is there another team that's heavy at RB and light at WR that you could offer Marshall & Ivory for a better RB?
    14 Team 1/2PPR league (1 Keeper)

QB: Rivers (3), Stafford (5), Keenum (NA)
    RB: Kamara (11), McKinnon (7), Bernard (7)
WR: M. Thomas (NA), Crabtree (1), Shepard (8), Wallace (NA), Cobb (NA)
    TE: Olsen (NA)
    K: Lutz (7)
    DEF: JAX (7)

    (We start 1 QB, 1 RB, 2 WRs, 1 RB/WR/TE, 1 TE, 1 K and 1 DEF)

Trading in this league is brutally hard...only 2 trades have been made all year, one of them by me. The only other player I'd want is Lynch and he isn't trading him for anything. Are Ben's matchups that much worse? Ben @Cin, @Atl, KC vs. Ryan @GB, Pit, @NO

I just proposed Marshall and Ryan for Brees. Since everyone knows I have an extra WR, I'm not going to get full value for him. I'm ok with that if I can improve my team.

No they aren't much worse than Ryan's match-ups. I actually think that Ivory could outproduce McKinnon though especially with his remaining schedule. I entered your lineups with Ryan/Ivory and Ben/McKinnon and I think that you only gained about 1pt per game according to the projections that I use for ROS. Giving up Marshall to gain 1pt per game seems like too much for me though.

Brees is a nice upgrade over Ryan.

If you can do the Brees deal, that's far better than your initial proposal.
