  • Bench Tate?

I know he's been sucking wind, but I have a feeling if I bench Ben Tate tonite he will go off against the woeful Bengals run defense, and my other options arent clear cut.

    Would you:
    1. Play Tate and then choose between Taliaferro or Terrance Williams (if Romo plays, then yes, if not, then no) for flex
    2. Bench Tate tonite, move Taliaferro to RB and definitely play Williams at the flex

thanks for the help. Will be glad to give my opinion on your question in return

I can't see Tate being a great option, but he's probably better than your other two.

I'd tend to agree with revo.

Bench Tate? Is THAT what Ben is short for?
Considering his only baseball post in the past year was bringing up a 3 year old thread to taunt Hornsby and he's never contributed a dime to our hatpass, perhaps?

If your parents named you Bench, you'd probably go by Ben, too.

Let me preface this by saying my team is 2-7 and I have had no luck this year with players I've started vs benched.

However, I would bench Tate and start Taliaferro and Williams. Rationale: BAL/TEN could get ugly...and if it does, Taliaferro will likely be in the game a lot in the 4th quarter, if not much of the second half. Even if it is not ugly, they seem like Taliaferro from in close, so I think he is a good bet for at least 1 vulture TD. As far as Williams, Bryant could be double teamed the entire game leaving Williams single covered. If he is, even Weeden can get it to him vs the JAC defense, much less Romo

I know this was a joke, but upon checking, his name is actually Benjamin Franklin Tate. Who knew he was such a patriot?

Consider me edified. Still havent decided on this one but I do agree with luckyheel that Taliaferro is going to get some run. What I dont agree with is that Weeden will get Williams the ball. Dez was DT all game last week and weeden couldnt complete a single pass to a WR until the game was already decided and the secondary was playing prevent.

Conclusion: Weeden really sucks and he always has.

Well I played Tate and it worked out for 11 pts...but the Browns RB situation makes me want to puke.

This reminds me of former MLB pitcher Ted Lilly. I used to call his name out at my draft by using his full name of Theodore Roosevelt Lilly.
