Jen watched one of the backyard cats eat a mole whole yesterday. She doesn't think she can have a relationship with him anymore.
Would she prefer that it rip the mole in half first?

she was suggesting it drop it so I could dispose of it... the cat (and I) thought this was a huge waste of meat.

I always joke about people buying wine from 7-11, but yesterday I got an order from an alcohol order from a Chevron station. I was thinking, if this is anything but beer, this person needs to work on their decision making process. But, fortunately, it was a 30 pack of coors light. Dropped it off 4 miles away for $12. wo0t.

                I disagree.
If DMT didn't exist we would have to invent it. There has to be a weirdest thing. Once we have the concept weird, there has to be a weirdest thing. And DMT is simply it.

                • Do you guys ever google old aquantices ? I went to school in Indiana for my freshman year of college, but never really stayed in contact with anyone. So I was messing around today and found this info

Kenny was kind enough to invite me to spend Thanksgiving with him in Kentucky my freshman year. he was a few years older and knew I was a somewhat naive kid from the suburbs and he warned me I would see shit that would freak me out. He wasn't wrong. I think i was freaked out for most of the Thanksgiving break, but have some pretty cool memories. He was really an amazing dude, and I am laughing just thinking about him.

Edit: needless to say this is a real tragedy. He was really an amazing person to meet, and I certainly feel for his family. I just wanted to appreciate what he added to my life.

Also a childhood friend was arrested robbing a convenience store in Davenport Iowa. On the upside several dudes I used to know are directors at fortune 500 companies. Weird what you can find on the internet.

My graduating class was f'n crazy. One of my classmates was Miss January 1993 and another was arrested and subsequently convicted for raping, murdering, and dismembering a woman in a park near our school.
More American children die by gunfire in a year than on-duty police officers and active duty military.

Uggh. My high school had some not so stellar folks as well.

Indeed. My circle of old friends runs the full gamut from recent suicide to former-CEO-retired-at-38.

Sounds like you ran with a peer group similar to mine. Lost one to suicide, one to a brain tumor, one's a near recluse who's bipolar that I mentioned in the chess thread. OTOH, one moved to Singapore, started a technical writing firm, grew it to 35 people, sold it for upper seven figures, and retired to do what she wanted, which was write fiction. Given her stories about being a woman running a business in Singapore, I joked with her one time to skip fiction and just tell non-fiction stories of her time over there.

                              • Use to hang with a dude who's sister Megan Ambuhl was one of the prison guards convicted of atrocities at Abu Ghraib. Apparently she went on to marry the main dude.

Charles Graner, a former corporal who is serving a 10-year sentence for his role as the ringleader of a sadistic group of army reservists, recently married a fellow guard but is not allowed to see his bride because of her complicity in the abuse of inmates at Abu Ghraib.
The new wife is not Private Lynndie England, who appeared in some of the worst photographs and is mother of his seven-month-old son, but former specialist Megan Ambuhl.
