Wow, thank you for the thoughtful words. Annie is stable although still having strange accidents (she's potty trained but lately she hasn't been able to control it randomly - twice a week), her GI is just not behaving normally. Visit with a specialist scheduled. But no hospital trips for Annie in 4 weeks which is nice and she is happy. I had thought we were done with this stuff entirely but it seems we may never be done - just gotta keep a close eye on her.

But to add insult to injury my wife has been in and out of the hospital for a month with oddly similar GI problems and they can't find the problem. Vomiting daily, diarrhea, lost 15 lbs. Viruses don't last a month Gallbladder getting removed today which I've heard is a breeze, hopefully that fixes her up. We've been to the ER 6 times in 6 weeks, which makes me feel like a hypochondriac.

But as I've said in other posts we are all lucky because there are so many that are so much worse off and we have a great support system.

Anyway thanks again for thinking of us.

So sorry to hear all that. Based on your earlier post i was also concerned. Wish i could do something more concrete, other than let you know your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

That seems to be the current theme with this group of GOPers. Bernie and Nots are the same way: it's not so much that *your* comment is wrong, it's just that it may not be 100.000% right. So if your comment is 99.1% right, they'll argue over the 0.9% to try and discredit you and claim your hatred of Trump is driving you mad.

None of them -- OneJay, nots, Bernie, JJ, whomever else -- claim that they actually support Trump, yet they go to the mat to defend him, much of the time with nonsensical gibberish.

so on a lighter note, my daughter is taking drivers ed. She had her first class yesterday. The instructor asked, "do any of you drive a Tesla?" probably trying to figure out if he needed to teach something unique for electric cars. Some dude responded, "none of us drive, that's why we are here !" I have to admit I admire his style.

I'm teaching my oldest daughter to drive. I know I was a terror when I first was learning to drive, so I have told myself I would be patient with my children. And mostly I think I am doing pretty well with that. But wow, it sure is something to ride in a vehicle where your child is in control.

My daughter is doing better than I did. We were out driving a few evenings ago, and a guy ran a red light right in front of her. She managed to slam on the brakes and avoid T-boning his car by about 10 feet. So that was good.

I'm teaching my child to drive and it's all kinds of explosion noises and veering scarily from one side to the other and animal sounds and all kinds of crazy shit. It is absolutely terrifying.

Of course, he's only six years old so maybe this one's on me.

another funny story (hopefully). I was teaching my oldest daughter to drive for the first time. In a huge, empty parking lot. She is going really slow.... Really slow. I tell her to step on the gas. "But dad I'm going really fast already !" Uhhh, you are going 7 miles per hour. It took me like 3 summers to get my kids to ride a bike because they are so cautious and worried about going fast. I guess that isn't the worst thing in the world.

True, but at least he is trying to cut down on the alcohol. In the meantime, I do most of the driving.

My "mediocre team crushing it in 1st place" team has hit the inevitable wall of regression. Just last week I had - no joke - a 20 point lead, maxing out at 114 points. I am now at 90.5 points and in 4th place. That has to be some kind of fall-from-grace record.

Does he try to tell you that a beer or two might help him drive better, just like pool and golf ?

Edit: In case it isn't obvious I'm not condoning drinking and driving, certainly not for 6 year old drivers.
