... which I think is a very long shot.

Originally posted by frae View PostThanks, I got a little lucky with it. I committed to punting career ratios and trying to compete for career ratios as soon as I picked Eck and Smoltz. When I opened with 5/6 hitters I knew I needed to be punting something on the pitching side. I won't win, but this one went much better than the last one.---------------------------------------------

So that's me done. I went with one of the most bizarre strategies I attempted ... though it won't be obvious from the final points scoring.
Punting Career HR, and BY HR and RBI.
I came pretty close to pulling it off, but I badly let go of my BY BA, and that dragged me down in the end ... and my projections were haphazard. With some better projections and more time, I might have been able to pull that off. Problem was, I was competing for highly sought after players, so I was wasting a lot of value on categories I didn't really need. If I could have moved that wasted value over to BA, I think it is a viable winning strat.
Also I screwed up a little bit early on by not targeting the right players. That meant that I couldn't pick the later players I had banked on ... my points score would have tanked badly if I kept with my original plan.
Anyway, fun draft, and definitely a strat to try again sometime.
