Is it accurate that Retrosheet only provides downloads of individual game box scores and bbref does all of the compiling? That's what it looks like... I would think someone other than bbref has already downloaded all of them and built a decent database file out of it. I wonder if I can find it.

Sean Lahman builds a database out of it. Baseball Databank used to do that, but I think they stopped a while back. There's a guy named Ted Turocy that has built a tool called Chadwick that a lot of people use to parse the Retrosheet data. 98% of the people that suck the Retrosheet data into a database are using Chadwick to parse it. I suspect B-R is using Chadwick, too, though I don't know that for sure.

ok. It looks like the Lahman database is the right place to get it, but it hasn't been updated with this summer's Retrosheet data. I'll probably still go play with it just because of how often I want to search the spreadsheet in a way that I can describe in SQL a lot better than in OpenOffice.

People back east always comment on how great it would be to have a year round farmers market and be able to get whatever fresh produce you want any time of the year, but that's not really the case. Instead you get 20 stands all trying to sell whatever is in season right then. Like I'll show up and every stand will be selling peaches one week. A week or two later it's 20 stalls of blueberries...

The first time I made it I made a batch of fresh pesto and froze a bunch of it in ice trays. Now I have a bag of little pesto balls that are close to a tablespoon each. If you've got the pesto, or use store bought, this recipe is super easy and pretty tasty.

Pretty sure Revo is the #1 pick in the RJ vintage draft... he's got 10k more than the next best R selection. Now, RHD might have better quality stats, but for career, especially since I believe those 11k posts of Revos are not tainted by suspect carry over numbers, is impressive.
