So I wound up with Holliday during my 12 team 5x5 (OBP) NL-only auction, and would like to keep him in this first week (4/5 for an .800 OBP, plus 1 HR/RBI and 2 Runs). I have the following scrubs...ahem...I mean cheap players, that I can replace in the week-one lineup (3/31 - 4/10):
Gerardo Parra
Willie Harris
Ronnie Cedeno
I am thinking that although the Pirates play 7 games this week, Cedeno is the obvious choice. He's gone 0/6 with 2 walks and 1 run scored thus far, and is not likely to put up a big week. Parra seems to have some upside based on Judge Jude's article on his offseason conditioning, and Willie Harris is off to a nice start (3/5 with 2 doubles, 2 RBI and 1 run scored), plus he'll get some starts this week while Jason Bay is hurting.
Does that sound right? Obviously, in the second full week (4/11 - 4/17), I bench Holliday...but for right now, I am micromanaging a bit more than I normally would.
Lineups are due at 1:00 pm EDT...so please let me know your thoughts.
