If DMT didn't exist we would have to invent it. There has to be a weirdest thing. Once we have the concept weird, there has to be a weirdest thing. And DMT is simply it.

It'd be interesting to go back and revisit some of the threads, but I think the Pen gave pretty good warnings on Hosmer, Segura, Soriano, Phillips, Hamilton, Butler, and Hart.

Kipnis and Choo are the two that mystify me the most. And how Allen Craig could develop the hitters version of Steve Blass disease - he just can't hit anything he swings at.
I'm just here for the baseball.

I know I asked the question here about taking Desmond or Segura with my late 2nd rounder, and the pen nailed a massive reversion for Segura.

Perhaps, my finest effort as a fantasy player will go essentially unnoticed and under-appreciated this year. In our 12-team, big money, hyper-competitive Ultra, I have won twice and usually place in the money. This year I drafted:

                    JVotto $45
                    CLee $25
                    BPhillips $24
                    ACraig $15 (was a keeper)
                    AGuerrero $10

... and yet missed the last money spot by one point. I lost on those big-ticket players, but the rest of my team was so cheap and awesome that I hung in there all season. Plus, I worked the waiver wire, traded away my $1 Blackmon and other gems, and kept the revolving door of injuries moving as best as I could.

Not one day in the season did I have a complete offense on the field. There was ALWAYS at least one injury hole. Every single day.

In many of my leagues, I keep track of what I call IDOD, or Injured Dollars on the DL. I simply add the salaries of every player on the DL for every team, every day and add it up. I stopped counting in late July and I had just over half of the entire league's total of IDOD. My luck with injuries was historically -almost absurdly- bad. (I also led the RJEL in this stat, at least until I stopped counting.)

All but only a few hitters (Bourjos, Medica, Frazier) hit the DL at least once.

I managed to keep my best minor leaguers (DVogelbach, HRenfroe).

I think with a merely-average helping of luck, I would have won this league going away. I'm hoping for a correction next season and I should win it all. My keeper list is still very good, if not totally deep. I still have big studs at good prices (Lucroy, Stanton, Kershaw, Arenado)

So, while no one will appreciate my best fantasy season, because it ended out of the money, I know how hard it was to do what I did.
