  • Danny Duffy....uh oh (9-6-14)

    Sat, Sep 6
Danny Duffy left Saturday's start against the Yankees with an apparent shoulder injury.
Advice: Duffy flinched on his first pitch of the game and then left with a trainer. This could be very bad news for the Royals as they make their run for the playoffs. Duffy is 8-11 with 2.42 ERA and a 1.08 WHIP on the season.

Danny Duffy is dealing with left shoulder soreness.
That's the initial diagnosis from the Royals after Duffy exited his start Saturday against the Yankees following an uncomfortable opening pitch. Tests will be run and more details should be revealed Sunday. This could obviously be a terrible development for American League Central-leading Kansas City.

An MRI taken Sunday on Danny Duffy's left shoulder showed no major structural damage.
Duffy has been diagnosed with left rotator cuff inflammation and the hope is that he will only have to miss one turn in the Royals' rotation (though that's probably overly optimistic). The young southpaw was lifted from his start Saturday evening against the Yankees after grimacing on his opening pitch. Duffy owns an outstanding 2.42 ERA and 1.08 WHIP in 141 1/3 innings this season for American League Central-leading Kansas City. Sep 8 - 11:11 AM
