Torn patella tendon, out 6-to-9 months, ouch. Crappy way to end a breakout season.

Yeah, that is rough. So that time frame means he may be right by the start of next year, or he may miss a couple of months worst case. How much does this lower his value next year? Too early to tell?

It'll be hard for him to get in much conditioning in the offseason and obviously he won't be able to pitch either so it'll probably take him a little while to get his legs under him. My guess is he'll be out/ineffective until the all-star break.
