Winterizing

Our keeper league as a cut off of 1 Sept. Any players acquired after that date will not carry over. Drops will stay dropped.

16 team H2H. We have had a player ride a Cy Young (2009 Greinke), two closers and dreck to the Championship, but his offense was a machine.

Keeper rules are arcane. To simplify, I have four unrestricted keepers.

Agree with this, other than Werth would be a for sure keep to me for a 6th round pick in a 16-teamer. Only other "I'd think about it" would be Hellickson over Stephenson.

Yeah, Werth is a good keeper as a 6th, but I'm not sure he is a stone cold lock to be a top 80 or even top 96 player next year (he will be 36, and his skills seem to have started to decline), and I don't like keeping guys at value, as I prefer the flexibilty the pick gives me. So, if I were picking at the top of the round, in the early 80s, I'd consider tossing him back. But I am also a guy who ranks OFers pretty low on my totem poll. I seem to always be able to find servicable OFers, so I focus my resources on infielders and pitching.

Because of options, a 6th round pick will not get a player in the top 100, except RP which are under drafted for some reason. If Werth is worth (yes that's a pun. Move along.) 120 or better, it is a reasonable keeper. We start 4 OF, so: McCutchen, Werth, Yelich, Calhoun. I can cope.

Ah, in that case, yeah, you have to keep Werth.
