  • Is Matt Wieters droppable in dynasty leagues?

Is Wieters worth keeping in a dynasty league on shallow rosters? I also have Miguel Montero.

he should be back next year without issue, and I guess I'd rather have him than Montero, but it's close.

Yes, he is. We're talking about a hitter who will have missed live game action for at least 4 months and will likely be DH only for the first couple of months in the season. I'd rather have Montero.

In a dynasty league with no salaries? Keepable forever? Wieters hands down...it may take a half a year to get adjusted, but after that he's clearly the superior player.

How shallow are the rosters? What kind of catchers are floating around on waivers? While he may be better long term than Montero, if you are in contention this year and need the roster spot, I wouldn't think twice about jettisoning him---the upgrade isn't that much.
