  • Who emerges from the Rays' closer committee?

Who will have the closer role two weeks from now? McGee, Peralta, Oviedo, or Boxberger?

  • #2
I'm not sure anyone does...they may just muddle through with whoever until they can get balfour back on track. I picked up McGee, because I think he is the best pitcher, but he is probably unlikely to emerge because they want to keep him cheap. Still, I have the RP depth to choose to go after the guy with the best upside. Although I think they may turn to Peralta first.

yeah I dont see why a team like TB would let McGee close unless he signs a long term contract.

I'm hoping former closer Leo Nunez gets the job.

He probably will as I had to decide between dropping him ($10) or McGee ($2). I kept the cheap guy.....

Considering how much and how often closers blow, it's no surprise.

Oh, are we talking baseball here? Sorry.

McGee pitched the 9th last night in a game the Rays lost 1-0, which these days is the closest the Rays get to a save situation. This was the first he'd really pitched in the 9th in a close game this year, so maybe there are some tea leaves to be read here.

some teams will use their top setup guy in that situation but yeah, good sign for McGee owners.

Personally, I'd bet big on McGee.

Then again, I had Josh Fields at the start of the year.
It certainly feels that way. But I'm distrustful of that feeling and am curious about evidence.

I don't own any of them, so The Curse is not working in this case.

Balfour with 2.1 scoreless innings for the save today......and on my bench damn! Thought he had to work out his issues or something. Oh well. At least i didn't drop him.
