We understand that you don't like him, we really do get it. But anyone who thinks that he's not doing the best job for his clients hasn't been paying attention over the past 15 years or so. He screwed up this year with Drew and Morales...I'll guarantee that he won't make the same mistake again. Nelson Cruz signed for 8 Million for the season, Drew signed for 10 million for 4 months, and we'll see what Morales gets. And just because Cruz is having a monster year so far doesn't mean it's going to translate into a long term deal for him...

Jon Heyman of CBS Sports reports that the Twins have reached an agreement with free agent Kendrys Morales.

No word yet on the terms or financial details of the contract. He makes for a very nice addition to a struggling Twins offense. He should see plenty of time as the designated hitter in the Twins lineup, which would cut into the playing time of Jason Kubel quite considerably.

As long as Kendry isn't blocking anyone I would think a Twins would like this short term risk free investment.

Yeah, it's certainly not the worst thing that they could have done. He'll replace Kubel and ??? as the primary DH and add some length to the lineup. It's also a move to tell the public that they think that they're in it (they're not, BTW) and intend to be players, and sell a few tickets in the meantime. It's probably another signal to agents that they intend to bid aggressively on free agents, so keep Minnesota in mind when it's time to find a new team.

All in all a positive move for a club that needs a few of these...

I don't know...they're really hitting this "early buyers" meme hard today, so flipping him in a month might not sit well. I suspect that they'll do a WW deal sometime in late August to a contender that needs a bat for the stretch run...they should be safely out of it by then. Of course, if Nathan continues to suck pond water, all teams in the Central could be in it...
