  • Tim Stauffer this week

I had him benched for his excellent first start, then active for last week's disaster. This week he has two home starts, vs. Pittsburgh and Washington. Our second UT slot can have either a hitter or a pitcher. Dare I insert Stauffer into the lineup (and bench Culberson who has six home games at Coors, but may not play much with Cuddyer now manning 3B)? I have until 7 pm to make my final decision.

I'd take the chance that Stauffer's last outing was a fluke and go with him. No one better on your bench to take that spot?

Other than minor leaguers, my bench hitters are Wilmer Flores, Jeff Baker, Donald Lutz, Tyler Colvin, Culberson and Logan Schafer. My only other major league pitcher is Carlos Torres.

Yeah, those are definitely the two best options then. I'd stick with Stauffer.

Meanwhile, Wilmer Flores goes 2/5 with a HR, run scored, and 6 RBI...on my bench.

So do the Pads have anyone else to take this rotation spot? Pretty clear Stauffer should be in the pen at best.

Well, Cashner is due back soon so if Hahn's start tonight goes well (not doing great so far) he could stick. Otherwise they could turn to Wisler who has had a couple nice starts since falling on his face in AAA (after dominating AA).
