  • Ventura for Cruz or Abreu..trade.m

    14 team...5x5...mixed..$300 budget...8 keepers

    I was offered Nelson Cruz ($20 in 2015 and $25 in 2016)

For yordano who is $6 in 2015 and $11 in 2016

Thoughts? How about jose abreu instead of cruz? Abreu is $26 in 2015.

    Thanks.

I'd go for Abreu, but not Cruz. Younger, in a better park, and as much, if not more power.
I'm just here for the baseball.

So you would trade Ventura? He looks like a big time stud in the making.

I would. I always prefer top tier hitting to top tier pitching in a mixed league like yours. But it's not a slam dunk.

Before coming over here, i posted on our league message board about Abreu looking like a draft bargain. Sorry, i guess i'm not the only one who has noticed him.

Hitters are less risky than pitchers. So, i think it may take an extra throw-in player to get Abreu for Ventura. Even then i would be reluctant to deal the Cuban slugger.

Well i guess the difference would be the salary for each player. But is that enough?

And are hitters less risky than pitchers anymore? I don't know.

Just make the offer. If he laughs, well, he probably should.

Which offer? I was offered Cruz for Ventura.

Counter for Abreu. No way I'd trade Ventura for Cruz at Ventura's price. But even with an expected regression from Abreu, Abreu for Ventura helps you this year a good bit. Ventura is going to hit his own wall eventually and also have to deal with an innings cap.

Yeah, I wouldn't do it either, but that is what cavebird meant by make that offer and expect a rejection. Ventura is not worth Abreu, but he is worth more than Cruz imo.
