  • Who would you deal?

I'm looking to pick up some hitting in my NL only 5x5 league.

I have the following staff: Strasburg, Kershaw, Wheeler, GCole, Cueto, HAlvarez, Rosenthal, Street, and Melancon with Strop, Rondon, Casilla, SMarshall and CPerez on my reserve.

Obviously, I have gotten nothing from Kershaw yet and Strasburg has been average so far. However, I fully expect both to excel the remainder of the year which means I have a very strong starting staff of 6. I'm also certain that I can afford to deal one for some hitting.

Would you try to send Strasburg or Kershaw to get 1 stud or 2 very good hitters (which likely will be VERY difficult in my league) or deal someone like Wheeler to get a guy like Marte who has been struggling so far?

    Thanks in advance.

if you could get marte for wheeler, do it and you can trade off a bigger name later as you pad your pitching stats.
After former Broncos quarterback Brian Griese sprained his ankle and said he was tripped on the stairs of his home by his golden retriever, Bella: “The dog stood up on his hind legs and gave him a push? You might want to get rid of that dog, or put him in the circus, one of the two.”

What place are you in in pitching? If you are near the top, I might deal a stud for a stud.

how about a sell high on Cueto - or do you think he will actually stay healthy this year? (I dont).

I agree with this. See what you can get for Cueto first.

With Rondon now the probable closer in Chicago, and Street pitching well but due for his annual injury, you could trade Street for a solid bat I'm sure. Otherwise, I agree with hammer - if you can get Marte for Wheeler, I'd do that in a heartbeat.

He seems to be the hot hand there now, and he's got the stats to back it up.

Do you think my $7 Cueto is worth a $20 SCastro and $5 MMorse? Or do you think I can get more for him? Castro will replace Cozart and Morse would replace either Stubbs, Barnes or Tabata.

I think that is a pretty good haul considering the upgrades you will be making. Cueto should get more than that, but I guess his injury history lowers his return a bit.

How about Matt Adams and Castro for Cueto?
In this scenario, Gattis moves to OF and my DLd Ramos goes to C and Adams is UT

If you can pull this one off I would do it. I doubt the other owner bites. Good luck.
