  • Who to drop?

I have Hamels coming back in my mixed league and I'm trying to decide who to drop.

The pitchers I'm debating between are:

    Liriano
    Ventura
    Tillman
    Sabathia

    So what do you think?

I'm dropping Sabathia of that bunch. Certainly not Liriano.
Considering his only baseball post in the past year was bringing up a 3 year old thread to taunt Hornsby and he's never contributed a dime to our hatpass, perhaps?

I would lean towards Sabathia also. Although i wouldn't fault you for dropping Ventura, who has such filthy stuff, but might be very erratic this season.

I had picked up Sabathia a few days ago so he does seem like the obvious choice but he's been good since the first few starts. I think he's settling into his new skills. With that, I started thinking about Tillman, who I also recently picked up (it's an embarrassingly shallow 10 team league) only to get his last poor start. It's also a little crazy to think that CC is the worst pitcher of the bunch.

What are the keeper implications? I am leaning towards keeping CC and dropping Ventura, but obviously keepers could change that.

So it seems like Sabathia is the winner right now with Ventura creeping up there. Anyone else care to chime in?

Can you keep them all and drop a reserve hitter?

                  Here are my hitters:

                  C- Rosario
                  1B-Goldy, Rizzo, Hosmer (start 1)
                  2B-Prado
                  SS-Desmond, Castro (start 1)
                  3B-Wright
OF-Braun, CGomez, K Davis, Myers, Pence (start 3)
There are two UT spots that the other players not starting at their positions have been filling in.

My other pitchers as long as I'm giving my lineup:

SP-JFernandez, Zimmerman, Cain, Ventura, Liriano, Tillman, Sabathia
                  RP-Robertson, Santos, Gregorson
                  DL-Hamels, Latos, Janssen

It's a Yahoo league so there is an innings limit of 1400 so I don't want to load up on too many starters. But I suppose I don't need three first basemen.

I might get rid of Hosmer at this point...with Goldy and Rizzo, you really don't need him. Either that or Khris Davis...he's certainly droppable.

I think you might be right, Horns. Thanks. Khris Davis was my last pick of the draft and I always like to try to keep that player because everyone else doesn't care about their last pick and I like to grab someone meaningful.

I think you can safely drop Khris Davis in a 10-teamer

That's who I dropped. I was all set to drop Hosmer cause I have 3 1Bmen but he's owned in 90% of the leagues vs 40(something)% for Davis. Hosmer got 3 runs last night and if he can get hot perhaps I can trade him for an OFer.
