The White Sox will place Chris Sale on the disabled list with a flexor muscle strain.
The White Sox announced earlier Monday that Sale wouldn't make his next scheduled start due to "general soreness," but now we have more details. The good news is that the left-hander has no ligament damage in his elbow, but a flexor strain is still something that could cause a lengthy absence. Charlie Leesman will replace Sale in Chicago's rotation.
