AL Keeper Help Needed - 10 Team, 5x5

Hi,
We can keep 11. Extensions cost $5. I'm pretty sure of these 9:

V. Martinez - $7 (Extend?)
Calhoun - $3
Cespedes - $14 (Extend?)
Jennings - $11
Rasmus $4
Encarnacion - $16 (Extend?)
Machado - $6 (Extend?)
Archer - $3
Frieri - $3 (Extend?)


Need 2 more from this list:
Pinieda - $8
Peavy - $11
Sale - $27
B. Roberts - $2
Singleton - $1
Erik Johnson - $1
Cosart - $3
McAllister - $6
Gentry - $1


Just lost Parker so obviously pitching is a problem so I was thinking with the hitters I have, it might not be a bad idea to keep Sale. What do you guys think? Its a $260 auction cap. Also, would you extend any of the (Extend?) guys above. The others either are in their first or last years so I don't need to extend them.

I like your 9, I would extend EE, Machado and that's it. I would definitely keep Sale. Not sure I'd keep anyone else. Don't love tying up all your corner/UT spots with Singleton. I think Erik Johnson might be the other most interesting guy on the list, or maybe Peavy.

From your keeper list I would only consider extending Machado.

Of the list you need 2 from, I would go with Erik Johnson and either Pineda or Sale. I would probably swing for the fences and keep Pineda.

I agree with JC here except I would keep Singleton. He is too valuable for a buck in a keeper league. He is also a great trading chip if needed after the auction.

I would keep him if you have a reserve roster otherwise he likely doesn't help you for this season.

Looks like most are in agreement with keeping Sale as #10. I have to point out that our rules force me to put Victor as a DH. He's quite valuable there but it does make it real hard to keep Singleton. If I do that I can't bid on Cabrera since my DH and all corner spots will be filled. I would only have the 5th OF spot, 3 MI and 2 catcher spots to get any more offense. So I can remove Singleton from the equation. I guess the majority will vote for a $1 Johnson as my 11th guy.

I'd keep Sale and Johnson.

Extensions--I'm prejudiced against them overall. In this case, I'd consider extending Martinez and/or Machado. Definitely "no" on Frieri (may not be closing too long into this year, let alone beyond) and Cespedes (nice price as is, but not at $5 more). I like EE at $16 and am inclined to say, "take the profit there and don't gamble".

I would extend Victor Martinez and Machado, and leave the others as is. I would probably go with Sale $27 and E.Johnson $1 as your last 2. Sale, Archer and Johnson isn't a bad start of a starting pitching staff.

Thanks guys. I pretty much went with the consensus. I kept Sale and Johnson as my last 2 and extended EE and Machado.
BTW, Miquel was kept at $47 and Pujols at $38. So EE at $21 is looking better.
