  • Bears watching in Detroit

Tigers lead all of baseball with 36 stolen base attempts in just 19 games of Spring Training. They attempted 25 steas in 35 spring games last season and stole just 37 during all of the regular season.

Looks like Ausmus is not Leyland in regards to an incredibly conservative approach to the running game. Should bode well for Jackson, Kinsler, Davis, Lombardozzi, and whoever ends up at SS for them.

Yea I really think they will be funner to watch. I fully expect them to run much more than years past. In addition I think they will be better at running bases. There has been an emphasis on taking an extra base and going from from 1st to 3rd and 2nd to home on hits. They definitely have made it a priority to score without constantly waiting on a bloop and a blast. They may not have the big innings as often as years past but I also tend to think they will be able to manufacture runs better hopefully leading to less shutouts.

"Bears Watching in Detroit"? Shouldn't that be "Lions Watching in Detroit"?
