    I'd probably keep Venable.

Venable. Maybin is hurt (again), so Venable should get good PT.

        Yeah I'd keep Venable too.

Agree with the others. Venable for a buck looks like the best option.

I agree with the others on Venable. Don't let my support for him deter you, though--keep Venable.

Even I can answer this one...it's Venable, without question.

Dang...I forgot to include Yordano Ventura on my list in the original post.

I can keep him for $1. Would anyone be tempted to keep him instead of Venable? He has great stuff and looked really good last night against the Rangers. I know rookie pitchers can be a crapshoot, but taking a chance can pay off big.

Man. I think I would. If he has 2 lights out starts you can certainly trade him for someone as good as Venable, and probably a hell of a lot better. What do you think Venable goes for? I would guess he's in the 10-15 range. Ventura might be in the 5-10 range but has extra trade value if he's a dollar because he's a great keeper. I really like Ventura.

Your draft prices for each are what I was thinking they would go for. Venable will produce some numbers but Ventura may be back in the minors by May. Damn. I have 3 more days to flip-flop

                    Thanks JC.

Just a couple of comments from readers at baseballprospectus.

Normally I don't bother with spring stats, but Yordano faced a big-boy lineup with the only regular Ranger missing being Adrian Beltre. He made Choo, Fielder, and Andrus all look foolish. The curveball was nasty and the fastball was electric. Can't wait to watch this kid pitch every fifth day.
Some of Yordano's curveballs that he threw yesterday looked like optical illusions. I backed up the DVR to re-watch a few because it just doesn't seem like a baseball should be able to do that.

Why not keep both Venable and Ventura, and toss Miggy. Say that you want Miggy back, and he goes for $70 instead of $67. There is no way you'd get Venable or Ventura back for $3 more than their current prices. Thus, that would be a good deal for you. And, you might even get him back for the same price or less.

I have to keep Miggy at that price. I acquired him in a trade and he must be kept. Sorry for the confusion.

I would venture to say that Ventura is a better keeper than the venerable Venable.
