Can anyone tell me what is the best site for creating dollar values for an auction where you can plug in your league parameters?

LastPlayerPicked used to be my preferred site but it disappeared.

For the bench, I'd assume a 50/50 split between $1 and $2 players and subtract that total from the $260 available as the starting amount.

I think those calculators are useful for setting up a budget and seeing where the floors are for the various positions. But no auction follows form exactly so you need to be able to adjust on the fly.

bbhq is what I use now. I like to buy offense and hq allows you to set up the parameters to what ever you desire. I click 'no bench' because I found it lowered the 'expected' value of the 23x12 team a.l. community I needed. Right or wrong, including a bench in the set up to obtain auction values didn't 'feel' right because of the significant change in suggested 2014 earnings.

I used to use baseballnotebook for my upcoming auctions each spring but the site stopped functioning after 2012.

Thanks guys. Disappointing that there isn't anything out there for free. The one I found isn't bad but I agree with eephus that auctions never follow these numbers.

Just a heads up, they only have Steamer-Fangraphs on there as a stats option, but still a great free resource.

agree with wannabegriffey here - i have my own custom $ calculator, and i never include the bench. it skews things too much. although i guess it would matter if you're *forced* to fill your bench at auction (we aren't - it's optional). if that were the case, i'd do what eephus suggests and just subtract $1.5 per bench slot from the starting auction $ for each GM.

Changing categories and positions are "pro" features, but if you change one, then click Back, then at the end switch the number of teams, it will regenerate everything. Copies nicely into Excel. The Positional Rankings tab groups by position.

The only issue is that there is no DH position, so add Ortiz, VMart, Hafner, Scott and Cust to the list.
