AL Only keepers

AL 4X4 $250

I'm feeling the squeeze of this leagues 10-15 player keeper rules. Cuts are due Saturday. My team is strong, and relatively cheap, coming off winning the league last season. I lost a couple good players to expiring contracts.

The 12 starred players I am planning on protecting.
*C.Davis $8
*Longoria $38 or Middlebrooks $8?
*Kipnis $13
*Profar $5
*L.Martin $5
*Gordon $11

A.Escobar $4
Villar $5
Markakis $5
DeAza $4


My pitchers are at reasonable salaries, at least for this league.
Lester $21
*M.Moore $8
*Parker $8
M.Perez $5
*Gray $5
Ventura $5
*Iwakuma $1
*Frieri $8
*Janssen $8

Hey Rush. Long time. Not sure how many teams are in the league but I'll give it a shot. Answers are below.

*Longoria $38 or Middlebrooks $8? Longoria's salary is too high. If you threw him back how much would he go for? I'd keep Middlebrook at $8 because he will give you positive profit and save the extra $30 spending on Longoria.

*Profar $5
*L.Martin $5
*Gordon $11

A.Escobar $4 Tough call between Escobar and Villar. Both give low BAs but Villars might not get up to .250. Villar if he hits better could steal 40-50. Because you have Martin, Kipnis, DeAza, I would go with Escobar as I think he hits better BA and should steal 20 plus. But check his injury which I think is minor.
Villar $5
Markakis $5
DeAza $4 Keep him as he could produce $20 with the SBs and HRs

Ventura $5 He might not make the OD rotation but KC rotation not strong, Duffy, Chen or even Vargas could all give problems. If you don't want Ventura then keep Villar maybe you can move him or Escobar

Nice list of keepers. I would keep both Longoria and Middlebrooks. I know you don't have much time but I would think the players your not keeping could fetch you one more solid keeper. This entire list would go for more in the auction than your keeper price: A.Escobar $4 Villar $5 Markakis $5 DeAza $4. They may not be the best keepers to go with your strong list but someone would probably benefit from the guys.

It has been a while - I try to stop by pretty regular but life has been harried and I haven't had time to post much.

Middlebrooks and DeAza were on my early keeper list but Drew lurking out there worries me in Boston, and I watched a Sox game the other day and they said DeAza is 4th OF or could be traded. In both cases I was thinking about limited at bats. FYI - Bogaerts is on my ML reserve

Longoria would probably go for about the same in the auction. I bought him last year, this year Miggy is out there too.
