  • Profar: Uh-oh? (2/20/14)

In Monday night's "All you need to know," we noted that the Rangers had cleared second baseman Jurickson Profar to begin a throwing program. The very next morning, however, the team changed course. As Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News writes, the Rangers have now shut down Profar because of ongoing shoulder tendinitis. Profar will neither throw nor swing a bat for at least the next week.

"We don't have a long-term concern, but with the nature of this injury, there is not much room for error in order to be ready for the start of the season," Rangers GM Daniels said. "We want to get it knocked out."

Profar told the team he initially sustained the injury while lifting weights last month.
Well that is not going to make the Kinsler trade look very good.

This doesn't seem to be too serious at this point. I imagine they are just being cautious.
