  • Welcome to Spring Mike Stanton

Stanton hit a pair of 3-run bombs and knocked in a total of 7 in his Grapefruit League debut vs. Boston.

My bold prediction of the year--Stanton hits 40 homers in his first full year in the majors. Has that ever been done before?

        What if was juicing too?
If I whisper my wicked marching orders into the ether with no regard to where or how they may bear fruit, I am blameless should a broken spirit carry those orders out upon the innocent, for it was not my hand that took the action merely my lips which let slip their darkest wish. ~Daniel Devereaux 2011

Harmon Killebrew hit 40 in his 1st full season, fewer career ABs than Stanton entering that season.

          It would be unusual, though...

Can't believe I forgot about Big Mac. I must have blocked out that era already.

I'm pretty high on this guy--I kept him in a 16 team AL/NL league with 2-4 keepers.

45 is the number I'm planning on. I'm hoping for an Adam Dunn type year.

This is bound to become a happy Stanton owner's RJ signature....

He's 21 years old--he's still getting stronger. I'll take the gamble--it's part of the joy of fantasy baseball.

Stanton replaced in the OF by Marlins as Mets come to bat in the 6th inning. Mets announcers say he had hamstring issues in spring, but don't know why he's out of there...

Mike Stanton was removed from the Marlins' Friday evening game against the Mets after five innings due to a tight left hamstring.
He was replaced by Scott Cousins. Not good news after Stanton was slowed for most of spring training by a strained right quad. Little is currently know about his status, but at the very least he seems unlikely to give it a go on Saturday. Expect an update on his condition later this evening.
