    Interesting stat about Ryan Howard, as he nears the end of his 13-year tenure with Philadelphia:

    Of his 12 career SBs, 8 came in 2009. I guess he felt especially spry that season!

      There was one year where he lost a bunch of weight in the offseason. Maybe it was that one.

        Is Aaron Nola injured? His last five starts (counting today) have all been brutal.
        In the best of times, our days are numbered, anyway. And it would be a crime against Nature for any generation to take the world crisis so solemnly that it put off enjoying those things for which we were presumably designed in the first place, and which the gravest statesmen and the hoarsest politicians hope to make available to all men in the end: I mean the opportunity to do good work, to fall in love, to enjoy friends, to sit under trees, to read, to hit a ball and bounce the baby.

            HQ has him at 4.05 xERA in his last 5 disaster starts, which isn't great but suggests a buy low. 4.45 real ERA, 3.07 xERA is huge difference. go get him.

              He's just not been locating anything at all. He's been shelved until after the ASB, maybe that will help.
