  • Brent Rooker underwent right forearm extensor surgery for an elbow problem that bothered him throughout the year. He’s expected to be ready for spring training.

    • The Tropicana Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas was imploded Wednesday to make way for the new A's stadium. It was built in 1957.

      • Was in Sac yesterday for a season ticket sales pitch. They are only selling full-seasons. They added some more premium seating options, but they are not going to be adding any extra seats (I thought they were adding bleachers in the outfield lawn seating area). Should come in around 9k seats total. As far as playing... it's going to be hot, and rumor has it they are changing the infield (at least) to artificial turf as there will be 2 teams playing there and it will get beat up. Also rumored that to beat the heat there will be more day (early) games played. No clue if that is true or not.
Tickets actually look like they will be more expensive than comparable phillies seats. I'm looking at about $50 per for row 20 behind the home dugout (shady side of the field).
I'm not expecting to grow flowers in the desert...

I'm planning on targeting some A's hitters in very early drafts before there's more news out about the home park hitter friendliness. Rooker, Butler, Langeliers, Bleday, rebound from Gelof.

          Any others looking positive?

Maybe not early, but Miguel Andujar could be worth a late round flyer.

              Early drafts as in January.

I like the call on Andujar in a 50 round Draft and Hold.
