Kela, when healthy, should be their guy. Holland did nothing in the 2nd half to guarantee him a role - https://www.fangraphs.com/statsplits...=P&season=2017

I'm not seeing the point of Tocci on this team. If they were a serious contender, sure, grab a specialist. But with this team he's just blocking ABs, and time in the field for Calhoun. I don't see how he lasts the season unless he has an "injury" that allows them to play the DL game.

"When healthy" is his primary struggle. He's nearing the point where you have to give him the dreaded "injury prone" label.

Most rule 5 guys are returned at this point. They're either deciding to work out a deal or hoping he tweaks something running out a grounder at this point.

I'm also still waiting for the Rangers to deal Profar for Andriese

I was thinking exactly the same - I can see Tocci playing LF on May 2, falling down in the 7th inning grabbing his leg, and DLd for a “hamstring strain” that mysteriously doesn’t heal until, oh, about September 2. And equally mysteriously, Willie Calhoun called up to replace him.

                  I’m admittedly a bit cynical.
I'm just here for the baseball.

                  • here's how Houston lined up against Joey Gallo today ... sorry for the size, I'd have made this smaller if I could ...

It certainly feels that way. But I'm distrustful of that feeling and am curious about evidence.

                    • did it work?
In the best of times, our days are numbered, anyway. And it would be a crime against Nature for any generation to take the world crisis so solemnly that it put off enjoying those things for which we were presumably designed in the first place, and which the gravest statesmen and the hoarsest politicians hope to make available to all men in the end: I mean the opportunity to do good work, to fall in love, to enjoy friends, to sit under trees, to read, to hit a ball and bounce the baby.

Fly out to 3B (in LF), then fly out to LF (in LCF).

Seriously.....some of these players act as if their manhood will be questioned if they bunt instead of trying to hit one out of the park to beat the shift.

Ted Williams would shorten his stroke with two strikes, but he would not try to exploit a shift.

Did opponents employ the shift vs Ted Williams? Is there anyone playing today with nearly the hitting skill? What is your point?
If DMT didn't exist we would have to invent it. There has to be a weirdest thing. Once we have the concept weird, there has to be a weirdest thing. And DMT is simply it.
