well, they keep winning, but this is a rough day for a rookie in his first start. From the play-by-play:
Moore struck out swinging.
Moore grounded into double play.
Moore struck out swinging.
Moore struck out swinging.
and in the ninth, with a four run lead and two out:
Betts reaches on error by third baseman Moore, Vazquez scored, Betts to second, Benintendi to third.
Benintendi scored on error by third baseman Moore, Devers safe on error by third baseman Moore, Betts safe at third on error by third baseman Moore.
Martinez reaches on error by third baseman Moore, Betts scored, Devers to third. In the best of times, our days are numbered, anyway. And it would be a crime against Nature for any generation to take the world crisis so solemnly that it put off enjoying those things for which we were presumably designed in the first place, and which the gravest statesmen and the hoarsest politicians hope to make available to all men in the end: I mean the opportunity to do good work, to fall in love, to enjoy friends, to sit under trees, to read, to hit a ball and bounce the baby.

And by comparison, that day for Andrew Moore looks better than their bullpen!

edit #2: Barry Bonds in 2001 (73 hr/156 hits = 46.79%) was best. I should have known.Last edited by madducks; 04-17-2019, 10:14 PM.“Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe.”
