If true and if the terms are reasonable, even by historical Yankees standards, this is potentially a smart, good move by the Yankees. Catcher was a hole for them last year, and even if he isn't what he was a few years ago, McCann would be a major upgrade.
And at age 30, he brings a bit of youth to the Yankees lineup.
