I think a $1 Bird is a good flyer in most league types.
Agree, it would have to be very deep or very few keepers (or you just have lots of other options) for him not to be a keeper at that price.
But basically, good keeper at $1, don't overthink it.
Who is/are the other ones that you would consider in his place?
Really no one. He's pretty much a lock for me to keep at this point. My roster is on the first page of this thread and if you look at it I doubt you find 8 better keepers than Bird.
Thanks Gregg.

Never said that. Why do you insist on misquoting me
I have always maintained that to win it takes MORE luck than most will admit. We all have the mad skillz to win though.

Results from an MRI and CT scan on Greg Bird's right foot showed inflammation.
The team said Bird is scheduled to be evaluated by foot specialist, Dr. Martin O’Malley, on Monday in New York, after which more about his status should be known. Even so, inflammation isn't a worst-case scenario, so the initial news seems to be promising. Despite the relatively good news, with so little time left before Opening Day it still could mean a trip to the disabled list to open the year. We'll know more Monday.
Inflammation could mean any number of things, and I'd expect the team to be cautious given that this is the foot that bothered him last year.

Anyone know if this is going to be a 10 day dl stint, or are we looking at longer? I have him at $9 and we need to turn in our keeper list by noon Saturday. I am now leaning towards not protecting Hicks. This would be for 12 team AL only league. After his 2 DL trips last year, I am thinking I would rather someone else deal with him. Thanks for any info.

He had a similar injury last year (twice) and missed a total of about 10 weeks, so I’d guess 3-to-5 weeks on this one. Plus they have Ellsbury and Frazier nearly back, so make of that what you will.
