I voted, and not for my team. Don't want to put the jink in force, same thing as I rationalized last Saturday in not going to the Reds-Pirates game.

I want the Cards, since I've got them at 25-1 thanks to Revo, but I really think this will be the Tigers year..."You know what's wrong with America? There has to be a weirdest thing. Once we have the concept weird, there has to be a weirdest thing. And DMT is simply it.

What's been striking to me that since they expanded playoffs in 1995, the records during the regular season dont seem to matter at all. Of the 18 WS's since then, teams w the best record in their league have won 5 times while wild cards also have won 5 times. This is what you would expect if the outcome was completely random (1 in 4 chance). MLB seems to have a "2nd season" now similar to the NHL. Any team can win a short series. Obviously, odds now are longer for the "play-in" teams, but once you get past the wild card games all bets are off.
Lots of sentimental favorites. Rays, A's and Pirates because of small-markets, extra appeal for the Pirates since they've lost for so long, Indians because they have gone the longest w/o a WS title besides the Cubs (1948). Even the Dodgers because of Puig-mania. Personally, I dont mind any team winning as long as it's not the Sawx.
BTW, I voted for the Cards. They will have home field advant thruout.
