  • Guys Sorta Hurt Entering the Last Week

Last week, some tough decisions for those of us who set lineups weekly...

    Matt Holliday - back - ?

    Shin Soo Choo - thumb - ?

    Andre Ethier - ankle - ?

    Marco Scutaro - finger - ?

    Tony Cingrani - back - ?

Allen Craig - foot - likely out for regular season, says Cardinals GM

    Russell Martin - knee -?

    Wilin Rosario - calf - ?

Yonder Alonso - hand - likely out offensively for regular season

    Jean Segura - hamstring - ?

I don't think Craig will be back at all. Martin is gutting it out but not playing well. Rosario is going to try to play but it wouldn't shock me if he didn't play.

Choo was in the lineup and played well tonight. Martin was in his team's lineup and went 0-for-5. Holliday didn't play, nor did Rosario. Ethier isn't in the lineup for the Dodgers. It doesn't look like Segura will play this week. Scutaro is out for the season.

I wouldn't look for Cingrani to start a game this week, unless the playoff spots are set going into Sunday. He may pitch an inning or two of relief as the Reds try to see whether to include him on the post-season roster.
