  • Pick me a 2-starter ASAP

Need votes / opinions by Monday afternoon.

Looking to grab a 2-starter for the second week of the playoffs. Porcello I know, the NL guys not so much. I like what I've read about Roark. Which one should I pick up?

    Wily Peralta, Brewers (CHC, STL)
    Rick Porcello, Tigers (SEA, CHW)
    Tanner Roark, Nationals (ATL, MIA)

Peralta--Wildly inconsistent. dynamite when he's on, dynamite to your ERA/WHIP when he's not.
        Porcello--WYSIWYG. Low upside.
        Roark--Young wild card.

Porcello has an advantage in terms of who he faces. Roark faces a good offense and a terrible one. Peralta has the Cards for one of his starts, and they can double you to death.

A lot depends on who else you have going. If you're gambling elsewhere, I take Porcello to mitigate the risk. If your other SPs are safe choices, I go with one of the NL guys, probably Roark.

All things being equal, and if pressed for a choice, I go with Porcello, low upside and all.
