After former Broncos quarterback Brian Griese sprained his ankle and said he was tripped on the stairs of his home by his golden retriever, Bella: “The dog stood up on his hind legs and gave him a push? You might want to get rid of that dog, or put him in the circus, one of the two.”
Whole key for Matt Harvey is how significant the UCL sprain is. Most surgeons say over 33% tearing means Tommy John.
In the best of times, our days are numbered, anyway. And it would be a crime against Nature for any generation to take the world crisis so solemnly that it put off enjoying those things for which we were presumably designed in the first place, and which the gravest statesmen and the hoarsest politicians hope to make available to all men in the end: I mean the opportunity to do good work, to fall in love, to enjoy friends, to sit under trees, to read, to hit a ball and bounce the baby.
"WFAN's Mike Francesca reported Monday that Matt Harvey has a torn UCL in his right elbow.
That injury almost always leads to Tommy John reconstructive elbow surgery, which would likely cost Harvey the entire 2014 season. The 24-year-old right-hander boasts a tremendous 2.39 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 261/57 K/BB ratio through his first 237 2/3 major league innings. This is obviously terrible news for the Mets.

Francesa is hardly a reliable source, but if this is close to true, what a horrible thing for Harvey, the Mets, and all those long-suffering Mets fans. Fans of this awful franchise are indeed cursed.

Harvey doesn't want the surgery
Alderson said there had been forearm issues for some time
Collins says yesterday was the first he's heard of it
oy
Alderson should be fired by the end of the day if this was a normal franchise. If it's true that he's had forearm issues for months yet they trotted this guy out there anyway to they could sell tickets that is unacceptable. Just a horseshit mickey mouse operation they have there in Queens. FUCK THE METS.

If Alderson knew and didn't do anything, he should be canned. If he knew and Collins didn't, both should be canned. If Collins knew and is lying, he should be canned.
If the Mets were a normal franchise, they'd clean out the whole bunch (except some of the players) and start over. However, the Mets are not and never have been normal, going back to their beginning.
