Rays acquired OF David DeJesus from the Nationals in exchange for a player to be named later or cash considerations.

It will be interesting to see how they use him, and if they plan on picking up his 2014 option.

The bench of most teams is that bad, or worse. DeJesus is a definite upgrade, and his performance the next 5-6 weeks may determine whether his option is picked up.

Am I correct in assuming that they'll send Bourgeois down until September 1st?

Bourgeois had to be DFA'd today to make room on the 40 man roster and it's unlikely they'll dump someone else to put him back on it.
