I only know one neuropsych doc, so my database is admittedly limited, but I know for sure he'd never endanger his practice by knowingly giving a false diagnosis to an athlete.

What I don't get is why the suspension is for 105 games. Why that number? A second offense suspension is typically 100. Frankly, all you need to do is take the rest of this season away from Tejada and he's not coming back.
So I did some digging. This is from ESPN:
So maybe the better question is why wait until now to suspend him for both? If you suspend him after his first positive test this season, he gets the message that he didn't listen to - that taking Adderall while you file your exemption paperwork is not ok. He either gets his paperwork done for his exemption or he stops taking it.
If they're cracking down on drugs so much, why wait?

His deal with MLB was that he drops his appeal of the amphetamine suspension and they don't add anything more on for biogenesis. He might have had a fighting chance appealing the amphetamine suspension, but that plus biogenesis and he took the deal. When he took the deal, everything was announced. That doesn't mean they didn't notify him or tell him he was getting suspended after the first positive amphetamine result.

Your explanation makes the most sense of anything I've read.
"Speaking of Biogenesis, MLB released a statement saying that Miguel Tejada did not warrant any discipline based on what they uncovered in the investigation, tweets Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times. Of course, Tejada will still have to serve his 105-game suspension for amphetamine use."

Apparently his ruse worked, too, judging by the sympathy for his plight stated here and elsewhere."Igor, would you give me a hand with the bags?"

Originally posted by eldiablo505I'm not sure. He was found guilty of lying to Congress about his PED use, though. He has also been implicated by Rafael Palmeiro, Jose Canseco in his book, in the Mitchell report, and in the Biogenesis case. He admitted to buying HGH but said he never took it (snicker). Oh and if we're trying to establish whether this guy can be trusted to tell the truth, he was also outed as having given false information about his age and his name (his real name is Tejeda, btw). But hey, maybe he's 100% clean and just a victim of Bud Selig's campaign of terror. Whatever. Screw Miguel Teja(e)da.
Again, I'm not saying the guy's a saint or trustworthy, but you're assuming he's lying about this because he got stuck like most of the star players in the 90s that used PEDs. All I'm saying is that it's possible this is legit. If he had an exemption as recently as April of 2013, why wasn't it renewed?
OTOH, Bud Selig couldn't mount a mule. (Honestly, I was thinking 2 cent whore, but the image that ended up in my head as a result was just too terrifying.) Campaign of Terror. Ha! Talk about hyperbole. He's just a fucking clueless tool abusing his power. He's no different from any other corporate business tool."Igor, would you give me a hand with the bags?"
"Certainly. You take the blonde and I'll take the one in the turban!"

Heh, it's just not my first inclination to deride Selig when another one of these cheaters gets busted for cheating. But, yeah, Selig's sure not some saint or something. I don't really mind his recent actions about punishing PED users but I really do mind his actions to benefit the Brewers back in the early 2000s and I think that he's showed a double standard in his treatment of the McCourt Dodgers vis a vis his treatment of the Wilpon (his buddy) Mets. The guy's a bad actor in general and his total failure to address the steroids epidemic in its earlier days certainly taints his current efforts."Igor, would you give me a hand with the bags?"
