  • Alex Rios to the Rangers

    For Leury Garcia

@DanHayesCSN: #WhiteSox receive Leury Garcia in return for Alex Rios. #Rangers

yeah, I was surprised to see Texas is 9-1 over their past 10 games & are now tied with Oakland for first.
It certainly feels that way. But I'm distrustful of that feeling and am curious about evidence.

Assuming he brings some #want to Texas with him that's a pretty nice replacement for Nellie Cruz.

He's hit .262/.302/.340 since Memorial Day

The 18 steals are nice, but 2 HRs in his last 261 PA???

He's extremely streaky in all offensive phases, a real box of chocolates. Owning him in a fantasy league is a real love/hate relationship.

Defensively, I seem to recall him being pretty good but not exceptional, which would be a big upgrade from Cruz.

This was a "nice get" for Texas. So much for those who were decrying Daniels and the Rangers for not getting a replacement for Cruz in advance.

ok folks, time to withdraw those Craig Gentry bids...

Salary dump for the Chi Sox. Leury Garcia appears to be a useful reserve (defense, defensive versatility, pinch runner). Wonder if they've received any calls about Dunn.

according to the official White Sox depth chart, Jordan Danks and his .441 OPS is the new starting RF. Eugh.
In the best of times, our days are numbered, anyway. And it would be a crime against Nature for any generation to take the world crisis so solemnly that it put off enjoying those things for which we were presumably designed in the first place, and which the gravest statesmen and the hoarsest politicians hope to make available to all men in the end: I mean the opportunity to do good work, to fall in love, to enjoy friends, to sit under trees, to read, to hit a ball and bounce the baby.

Think they'll call up Avisail Garcia?

                  that's what I was thinking.

IIRC, when the trade was made for Garcia it was positioned by some as prep for trading Rios.

                    Already done.

Danks is in the lineup for tonight, but only because Viciedo is hurting.

That makes sense. So they're going with this?

LF Viciedo (when he's hurt, Danks plays RF and Garcia presumably plays LF)

                      RF Avisail
                      DH Dunn

Rick Hahn is one step closer to his dream of an all-Garcia team.

This is probably bad news for Profar getting regular PT?

The Rangers already said they were going to stop playing him in the OF. They seem content to keep jerking him around.
