This guy has popped up on my radar. We have a minor league draft today in an NL keeper league with 5 man minor league rosters and I am thinking about selecting him. Would appreciate any insight.

While he has been raking this year, and the words sweet hitting, SS, and Rockies sound like music to an any prospectors ears, he is hitting in a very favorable home park, which plays out in his home/road splits. While I like him, I would not roster him if your rosters only run 5 deep. He is too unproven and far away for that. I think he is a top 100 NL only prospect right now, but he isn't top 50-60 (assuming you have 10-12 teams). He could become that by next year, and if you want to gamble, he seems like a good one, but again, there are 50-60 safer bets at this point.

Thanks. I agree with your views, but some gamble is warranted as the the 50-60 safer bets are already rostered.
