  • Mid-season fantasy awards

Picking up on the Baseball HQ podcast from Friday, and considering we have embarked on the most boring 4 days of the year, who are the winners (and losers) of your mid-season fantasy awards?

Give an answer for AL/NL for each one!
    1. Rookie of the year
    2. Bust hitter of the year
    3. Bust pitcher of the year
    4. Most improved (or comeback/surprise player)
    5. Best relief pitcher
    6. Cy Young
    7. Best hitter

I only do NL. Voting for biggest fantasy impact, if I'm understanding this correctly, rather than real baseball impact.

NL Fantasy Rookie: I don't believe Jean Segura doesn't qualify as a rookie or he'd certainly have my vote. As exciting as Puig has been with 8 HR and 5 SB, I'll vote as a biased Cardinal fan Shelby Miller. 112 Ks, 2.92 ERA, 1.12 WHIP, 9 Wins.

NL Bust Hitter: Matt Kemp over BJ Upton or Ike Davis. Upton and Ike worse, but Kemp cost $10 more in my auctions and he's back to being hurt.

NL Bust Pitcher: Jon Niese A lot of good choices here as usual, but Niese (1) was getting a lot of accolades here in the rotojunkie bullpen pre-season, (2) is now hurt, (3) has terrible K:BB relative to his career.

NL Most Improved/Surprise/Comeback: Francisco Liriano Looking like he's back to elite stud starter status.

              NL Relief:Grilli

NL Cy: Wainwright Kershaw for real baseball, but Wainwright has four more wins so he gets my vote for fantasy impact.

NL Hitter: Jean Segura Not too far behind CarGo in 5-category production, and he plays a more scarce position.

And Harvey just barely missed qualifying!
