  • Trading Future for Today

Currently in 4th place (15 points out of first) in 12 team mixed 5x5 keeper league. Have a deal in the works to sacrifice a bit if the future to make a run.

    I send:

Teheran - $3 through next yr before extension needs to be offered or not.
Taillon - $3 (service click starts ticking after ROY eligibility is eclipsed)
    Yellich -$5
Hosmer - $12 signed through next year

    I get:

    Verlander -$47
    Adrian Gonzalez -$37

To me its worth it just to get out of having to keep Hosmer through next year.

My only pause I have is that gem Teheran threw today.

You have to give to get. And you are getting some good ones. Are both Verlander and Gonzalez contracts finished this year? Either way I like the deal for you, but I was just curious.

I wonder if after Teheran's outing today you could pull Taillon out of the deal and still get it done?

agree with the above. Teheran has just gotten better as the season's gone on; if the initial trade was fair before I bet you can adjust it a bit now.
In the best of times, our days are numbered, anyway. And it would be a crime against Nature for any generation to take the world crisis so solemnly that it put off enjoying those things for which we were presumably designed in the first place, and which the gravest statesmen and the hoarsest politicians hope to make available to all men in the end: I mean the opportunity to do good work, to fall in love, to enjoy friends, to sit under trees, to read, to hit a ball and bounce the baby.

I think I read Teheran's ERA is something like 2.03 in his last 6-7 starts?

If so, at least hedge there - apparently he was awful early but maybe has figured it out

But like all SPs, no lock in 2014

and now realizing this is 12-team mixed, so...... I think I'd still do it if he won't budge

If the shoe was on the other foot I would not not give up Verlander and Gonzalez for less.
