NL only league - no decent free agents available

Anyone else running into this problem? Looking to pick up someone for the week for Carlos Quentin.

There is literally no one worth spending $2 on.

Juan Uribe?
Eric Hinske?
Alberto Gonzalez?
Mike Baxter?
Alfredo Marte?
Juan Guzman?

Marte looks like had started the three games prior to Sunday. He has a series in Colorado over the weekend. Baxter has a series in Colorado to start the week.

I mean, it's nice to pick up at-bats. But at what point is it just a waste if the guy hits .150 and drives in 1 run? Or only gets 5 at-bats?

Check the schedule and pick up a guy whose team is playing in an AL park. Some of these NL teams are giving out unexpected ABs to guys at the DH spot.

Yeah, I'd kill for someone as good as Marte. Pollock has been getting the 4th OF ABs, but Marte will get an occasional start too.

Ramiro Pena has been playing at 3B while Freddie Freeman has been on the DL and Chris Johnson has been covering 1B along with Evan Gattis.

He isn't going to be an offensive leader for the week, but he certainly won't hurt you.

Ramiro Pena has been playing at 3B while Freddie Freeman has been on the DL and Chris Johnson has been covering 1B along with Evan Gattis.

He isn't going to be an offensive leader for the week, but he certainly won't hurt you.

Other than one start (where he was eventually moved to second base as a late defensive replacement for Uggla), Pena has only played at 3B as a late inning defensive replacement. Barring injuries at a middle infield spot or another injury this week at 3B, I don't see a ton of playing time for him, although he has made the most of it so far (who knew??).
